Sandra Trieu DBT

Sandra Trieu is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who believes the ways we cope are shaped by our experiences, often reflecting what we once needed to get through hard times. Sometimes those strategies still serve us well, and other times, they no longer fit the life we're trying to build. She sees therapy as a space to look at these patterns honestly, without shame, and to figure out whether they're still working or if it's time to try something new. Sandra works with people who feel burnt out or stretched too thin, whether that's from a demanding job, caregiving, or simply having too much on their plate. She also sees clients dealing with relationship strain, ADHD or other neurodivergent experiences, and moments of real uncertainty about career or identity.

Her approach is grounded in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and shaped by a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens. She works collaboratively with clients to understand what's underneath a pattern, and teaches practical skills to manage emotions, communicate more clearly, and handle conflict without losing yourself in the process. Sandra completed her DBT training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), leading individual and group therapy. She holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. Outside of her practice, Sandra stays active, paints and experiments with different art mediums, and spends time with loved ones, which help keep her grounded.

Favourite DBT Skill

"My favourite DBT skill is Clarifying Priorities. I like that it forces us to slow down for a second and actually ask what matters most, before reacting. It's such a simple shift, but it changes so much about how we respond."
