Gwenne Woodward, MSW brings compassion, creativity and evidence-based treatments into her work with her clients. Her focus in therapy is to help clients and their families find long-term and life-worth-living solutions rather than short-term crisis-generating behaviours. She brings over 16 years of experience in mental health and addictions, and specializes in working with borderline personality disorder (BPD), anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and depression.

Gwenne received her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Rutgers University, after a career as a musician and Music Therapist. She has extensive training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and has worked as a Team Lead of a DBT team within a mental health hospital outpatient BPD program. She is also trained in other therapy modalities including DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) for the treatment of trauma and DBT for Eating Disorders. Gwenne enjoys teaching and training and has a passion for facilitating DBT Skills Groups. In her spare time, she enjoys being in nature, gardening, reading mysteries, and listening to music, and she enhances her life by adopting stray animals that find their way to her door.

Gwenne Woodward: About Me

Favourite DBT Skill

"My favourite DBT skill is the STOP skill. Why I appreciate this distress tolerance skill so much is that it requires many of the other DBT skills to practice and encompasses all of these into one single skill."
