Dr. Lorraine Patterson received her Ph.D. at the University of Saskatchewan in 2004, and she has been a licensed clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 2007. She provides psychological assessment for adults who struggle with various difficulties, including depression, anxiety, dissociation, post-traumatic distress, addictive behaviours, out-of-control emotions, personality problems, and relationship problems. In addition, she enjoys working with people who are interested in understanding, managing, or repairing the legacy of trauma. Her over 20 years of experience in the mental health field has taught her that recovery is possible, and is a direction, not a destination. She believes that psychological assessments can be an important part of the recovery journey.

Lorraine Patterson: About Me

Favourite DBT Skill

"My favourite DBT skill is also the skill I find most challenge to do, which means I must really lean into it to be effective when applying the skill. Specifically, radical acceptance, when the facts of life are different from what I want, is hard for me and yet it also helps me change the things in my life that I am willing (and ready) to change."
