Dillon Dodson, MSW believes that we are all doing the very best we can with the resources, knowledge and experience we have, and that we can always continue to learn and grow. She is grateful for the courage and willingness it takes for people to enter therapy and include her in this journey. Dillon finds that Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) offers concrete skills that can create profound shifts in our quality of life and in the challenges we face. She believes that DBT has something to offer for everyone, and can be especially beneficial when other treatment modalities have not been as successful.
Dillon received her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Toronto and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at McMaster University. She received her DBT training at Laurier University, has been practicing DBT for over 10 years, and is also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She's also a firm believer in the transformational power of the human-animal bond, and therefore you'll find her spending her spare time with her dogs outdoors, or reading, traveling or watching the Blue Jays.

"The PLEASE skills - By caring for our basic needs we can influence our internal resources and improve health factors that may influence our emotions, urges and behaviours. Further, when we do have vulnerable moments, use of this skill can help us recognize where we were challenged and why, which creates space for a more compassionate view of self."
