Registered Nurse | She/Her
Available in Ontario
Cindy Zloty, RN aims to help her clients in therapy go from a place of suffering and anguish, to a place of feeling in control of their emotions, thoughts and behaviours. She aims to help her clients find more joy in their lives and to live a life that is worth living. Cindy believes that when we can learn to practice Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills in all life situations and make them habits, we can begin to experience change and growth, and reduce our overall suffering.
Cindy is a registered nurse and psychotherapist, with over 21 years of experience in the mental health field. She has experience working within intensive, comprehensive DBT teams and received her DBT training through Behavioral Tech. Cindy continues to receive regular supervision and DBT training to enhance the therapy she provides to her clients. In her spare time she enjoys walks in nature, sitting near the water, painting, doing crafts and spending time with her family.
Favourite DBT Skill
"My favourite skill is mindfulness of current emotions. Experiencing emotions mindfully allows for us to see that we can tolerate emotions and don’t need to push them away. Tolerating emotions creates an opportunity to respond to the emotion in a way that results in less emotional suffering. Our suffering decreases, our relationships improve and we function more fully in our lives."
